This three week course introduces those teachings that are the basis for all philosophy and practice of Buddhism.
Karma basically means cause and effect. Good actions have good results and bad actions have bad results. So if we wish to be happy and bring happiness to others, we need to understand the correct actions that lead to that happiness. These essential teachings support all Buddhist practices and in particular taking refuge.
Presenter: KHENPO PALJOR
Khenpo Paljor was born in Eastern Tibet in Nangchen. In 1982 when he was the age of 19 he was admitted at Dirru monastery in Tibet. In early 1984 he left Tibet to pursue his monk studies in India and arrived at Sakya monastery at Bir.
In 1988 he entered Sakya College of Buddhist Studies and studied there for nine years and finished his masters degree in Buddhist philosophy under late Khenpo Migmar Tsering.
In 1997 he was enthroned as Khenpo at Dirru monastery and over the next six years he taught as a senior teacher until 2004 at Sakya College. Acting on the wishes of HH the Sakya Trizin and HE Dungyud he returned to Tibet to restore Dirru monastery.
