Introduction to Buddhism
This five week course introduces those teachings that are the basis for all philosophy and practice of Buddhism.
In particular, the four topics of impermanence, suffering, the precious
opportunities afforded by human rebirth and cause and effect will be studied in detail. These essential teachings support all our Buddhist practices and in particular taking refuge. AND
37 Practices of a BODDHISATTVA This five week course introduces a method for one can help to disperse the darkness of ignorance motivated by great compassion, has generated bodhichitta, which is a spontaneous wish to attain Buddhahood for the benefit of all sentient beings
Presenter: KHENPO PALJOR
Khenpo Paljor was born in Eastern Tibet a middle class family in Nangchen. In 1982 when he was the age of 19 he was admitted at Driru monastery in Tibet. In early 1984 he left Tibet to pursue his monk studies in India and arrived at Driru monastery at Bir. In 1988 he entered Sakya College, high Institute of Buddhist Studies and studied there for nine years and finished his master degree in Buddhist philosophy under late Khenpo Migmar Tsering. In 1997 he was enthroned as Khenpo at Driru monastery and the next six year he taught there as one of the main teachers until 2004. As wishes of HH the Sakya Trizin and HE Dungyud went back to restore the Driru monastery in Tibet. Introduction to Buddhism
